Ernesto Soto Chavez is partner of the Natural Resources and Environment area. He has a wide experience in the public and private sector, providing advice in matters of Public and Environmental Law, specialized in environmental management of investment projects in the energy, mining, hydrocarbons, industry, and transportation sectors.

His advice comprises the regulation of natural resources for investment projects, solid waste regulation, environmental certification of investment projects, environmental supervision and oversight, social conflicts management, regulation in matters of indigenous people and consulta previa (prior consultation), execution of institutional projects; as well as processing of common, penalizing and trilateral administrative procedures in regulated sectors such as environment, mining, hydrocarbons, industry and telecommunications.

He has been a grantee by the PUCP and the OAS. He has also performed as consultant of the Senior Management of the Ministry of Energy and Mine, consultant of the OEFA (Environmental Evaluation and Inspection Body, by its initials in Spanish) Environmental Inspection Court, consultant of the German Cooperation for Development – GIZ in Peru; and as attorney in the Law Firms Rubio Leguia Normad and Lazo & De Romaña Attorneys.

He has been in charge of direction, representation and institutional representation, and inter-institutional coordination in public institutions. Likewise, he has integrated negotiation teams of different nature including social conflicts, and has been delegate of Peru before the United Nations headquarters in Geneva and in international forums like Colombia, Mexico, among others.

In the academic aspect, he has been assistant and assistant professor at the PUCP for the courses Administrative Law II, Seminar of Administrative Law, Telecommunications Law and Sociology of Law.
